"If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours."

--Henry David Thoreau

Complete strangers have always felt comfortable around me. Many have even felt compelled to tell me the story of their lives. I am a listener by nature, and that aspect of my personality was further honed to perfection in my 15 years of interviewing and reporting as a magazine journalist for Time, People, and Teen People. I found one subject's comment about me particularly striking. A few years before she passed away, I interviewed former disco diva Vicki Sue Robinson, who was known for the hit, "Turn the Beat Around". We talked about her past, but we also focused on her present, because she was excited about touring, and the music she sang in commercials. This was not someone who saw herself as a one-hit wonder. When we finished, she said, "That felt great! I feel like I should pay you for that!" That was when I realized I had something really special--an ability to connect with people in a deep and very special way.

As a writer and novelist, I am well versed in the complexities of the creative process. I also understand what it takes to help a person work at his or her highest potential. My ideal clients are:

  • People looking to complete a creative project, whether it's writing the Great American Novel, that wonderful memoir you've been thinking about for years or the brilliant screenplay you've always wanted to get down on paper.
  • Career types who "have it all", but their lives just aren't working for them. Often these people aren't happy in their jobs or, if they are, they can't enjoy life because the crush of family and work responsibilities keep them too busy.

I help my clients get focused on their projects, add balance to their harried existence and develop the ideal vision of their lives.

When a person connects with that vision, the moment is magical. I love that excitement, and I enjoy sharing the feeling of abundance--that we all deserve to have what's best for us. That's why I love my work as a coach, and feel blessed that my natural talents allow me to be a part of this wonderful process.
